Medicinal and Edible Plants of Southern California and the South

Plants are incredible sources of medicine and nutrition. Join herbalist William Broen for a morning of entertaining exploration throughout the Arboretum as he illuminates the many fascinating uses, both past and present, of various California native plants. Broen will discuss elderberry, white sage, yerba santa, manzanita, live oak and stinging nettles, among other plant species.
